Acupuncture

“Acupuncture is a form of poetry, energy follows where intention goes…”.

Acupuncture offers treatments to relieve problems and to assist pregnancy through every step, from trying to conceive, to pain relief in labor and postnatal care. It is particularly useful in late pregnancy to encourage a timely onset of labor and help avoid medical induction.

Herbs & nutrition

Good diet and nutrition, exercise, and healthful lifestyle including a positive outlook and strong social support are the cornerstones of an optimal childbearing experience.

Herbs can provide substantial relief for common symptoms and concerns that arise during pregnancy and childbirth. The power of herbs should be respected during pregnancy, and therefore, they should be used with caution. Many herbs offer simple, safe, gentle, and effective solutions for many common pregnancy problems ranging from anemia to morning sickness.

BOT

We believe that a healthy pregnancy requires serenity and peace of mind that lead to a happy baby and an empowered and healthier mother. Our Midwifery-led maternity clinic was founded to allow for the holistic, attentive and professional care we believe is necessary for this peace of mind.

During your visit there will be opportunities to talk about your pregnancy and any concerns you may have.

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a specific form of manual therapy that often involves internal and external, hands-on techniques to evaluate and treat pelvic floor muscle functioning and its interaction with other deep core muscles.

Arvigo

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy are a holistic approach to wellness founded on the ancient Maya technique of abdominal massage. Dr. Rosita Arvigo developed the techniques of  external massage that gently guide organs into their optimal position to support health and wellness. Arvigo Therapy is best known for addressing misalignment in the reproductive and digestive organs. The techniques effectively alleviate physical and emotional congestion to improve the flow of energy, blood, lymph and nerves in the abdomen.

Bone Closing Ceremony

Bone closing is a traditional and ceremonial part of postpartum care in many cultures. It is a ceremony intended to honor the mother, and bring both an end to the pregnancy cycle, and honor her return to ‘self’ as she recovers from childbirth.

The ‘closing’ spoken of refers to the gentle wrapping and ‘tucking in’ of the head, the ribs and midsection, the pelvic area, the thighs, and lower extremities using rebozos, which helps facilitate the return of the uterus and bones back to their original positioning. Once complete, the mother is kept warm, and allowed to rest and process her experience.
